Every April, National Minority Health Month offers an opportunity to recognize and address the disparities that continue to impact the health and well-being of communities of color. At Quest Community Development Corporation (QuestCDC), this month is more than a moment of recognition—it is a reaffirmation of our mission to build thriving, self-sufficient communities in Northwest Atlanta by supporting the individuals who need it most.
This year, we are proud to highlight the incredible work of our dedicated case managers and support staff who stand at the frontlines of community care. These committed professionals play a vital role in helping residents navigate not only the complex healthcare system but also housing, behavioral health services, workforce development, and more. Their work is especially critical for individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness, people living with chronic health conditions, and those re-entering society after incarceration.
Our team at QuestCDC understands that health is deeply connected to housing, education, employment, and social support. That’s why our case managers take a holistic approach—providing personalized care coordination, helping clients set and achieve life goals, and working in collaboration with our partners across the city to break down barriers to health equity.
Through partnerships with local healthcare providers, mental health specialists, and neighborhood organizations, QuestCDC ensures that individuals in our programs receive comprehensive support. Whether it’s connecting someone with primary care services, enrolling them in behavioral health treatment, or simply being a steady presence through a difficult time, our staff show up every day with compassion and purpose.
“We often say that we don’t just provide services—we build relationships,” says Melissa Tyson, Director of Supportive Services at QuestCDC. “Our case managers know their clients’ stories, their struggles, and their dreams. That personal connection is what makes our work not only effective, but deeply meaningful.”
As we celebrate National Minority Health Month, QuestCDC also acknowledges the systemic challenges that many in our community face. From limited access to quality healthcare to the lingering effects of historical injustices, the path toward health equity requires collective commitment and action. Our staff are not only responding to these challenges—they are actively working to transform lives.
We invite our community, partners, and supporters to join us in honoring the people behind the scenes—the case managers, peer support specialists, housing navigators, and administrative staff—who make our mission possible. Their work is a powerful reminder that when we invest in people, we build healthier, stronger, and more equitable communities for all.
