Residents arrive at Quest with dreams deferred due to homelessness, health challenges, financial setbacks, and countless other life altering situations. Our mission is to aid them in achieving their goals. We begin with inspiring them to recapture their self-worth and motivate them to begin anew.
Quest Cares: Staff Spotlight
Melissa Tyson is the Director of the Supportive Services Department, Quest Cares, and is a Certified Life Coach and Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor Level II. She has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and two Master of Arts degrees in Human Services Counseling and Clinical Mental Health. As the Program Manager, she manages the daily operations of the programs within Quest Cares. Melissa started her journey here at Quest CDO in 2016 as a case manager overseeing a caseload of 35 residents. She was later promoted to Lead Clinician in 2018 and Program Manager in 2022. Through her time here at Quest, Melissa has created annual community events for the residents, including a "Dress for Success Day," in which residents receive free haircuts, participate in resume builder workshops, acquire donated work attire, and enjoy a catered meal.
Melissa helped increase the employment rate for Quest Residents and helped to ensure a 90% housing stability rate that prevents residents from returning to homelessness.
Melissa has a passion for helping the underserved population and has been in the behavioral health and social services field since 2009, where she has provided various therapeutic counseling services. She is currently working on her licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor and is an active foster parent since 2015. She continues to aid those struggling with addictions and is dedicated to services and partnerships that will end chronic homelessness. Her overall goal is to continue to make a difference in the lives of individuals who are in need.
