A Vision That Built a Movement
Leonard L. Adams, Jr. | Founder & Chief Executive Officer
In 2001, Leonard L. Adams, Jr. took a leap of faith—and a $30,000 investment—to launch what would become one of Atlanta’s most transformative community development organizations. His vision was clear: create pathways to stability by providing safe, quality housing for individuals whose lives had been disrupted by mental health challenges, addiction, or other personal hardships.
But Leonard understood from the beginning that housing alone wasn’t enough. He built Quest on a belief that lasting change happens when people are supported not only with a roof over their heads, but also with the tools, care, and community they need to rebuild their lives. Under his leadership, Quest’s model integrates affordable housing with holistic supportive services—addressing the root causes of instability while restoring dignity, self-worth, and hope.
More than two decades later, that founding vision continues to guide Quest’s mission. Today, more than 93% of Quest residents do not return to homelessness—a testament to the power of compassion paired with accountability.
Leonard’s commitment extends beyond providing housings; it’s about transforming systems. His work ensures that Westside residents gain influence over the economic, social, and political structures that impact their lives—fostering resilience, equity, and opportunity for generations to come.
