Shari Ridley has been a Quest resident since February of 2016. In 2004, at the age of 18, she was hit by a stray bullet in Detroit, MI which left her paralyzed from the waist down.

Quest supportive services staff worked with Shari to find employment. She is now employed by Amazon on the evening shift so she can continue her rehabilitation during the day. Shari also has a creative side where she decorates sneakers for underprivileged children.

Currently confined to a wheelchair, Shari relocated to Atlanta to seek medical attention. Shari is determined to walk again. She has been diligent in maintaining her appointments at the Shepherd Center which are 5 to 6 days per week.

Quest discussed getting an electric wheelchair for Shari, but she would rather keep her manual one because she doesn’t want to lose the vision of walking again. She has created a GoFundMe page to raise money for the surgery she needs.

Shari believes in herself, and she serves as an inspiration for us all.
